Pioneer Energy's Senior Management Team is responsible for the strategic direction and the day-to-day operations of the company. Covering all aspects of operations, sales, product strategy, management, and finance, the team works together to ensure the continued success of the company.
Fraser Jonker - CEO
Fraser joined Pioneer Generation as Chief Executive Officer in 2010. He not only brought his local and international general management experience to Pioneer, but also more than twenty years of experience in electrical engineering, construction, maintenance and asset management.
Fraser is committed to growing Pioneer in a sustainable manner forming sound relationships and prudent business investments.
Andrew Williamson - Chief Financial Officer
Andrew joined the Pioneer team in 2015 where he has responsibility for the Group’s finance function, investor relations and funding.
Andrew has extensive experience both in New Zealand and overseas; commencing his career with KPMG and subsequently holding senior finance roles in various organisations. Andrew came to Pioneer from Halls Transport where he was the Chief Financial & Commercial Officer, responsible for Finance, IT, HR and Quality Assurance.
Jonathan West - Chief Operations Officer
Jonathan has more than twenty years’ experience in various finance and operational roles in such diverse industries as pharmaceuticals, marketing, software and e-commerce in the UK, Australia and the US.
A relative newcomer to the energy industry, Jonathan started his career as a chartered accountant in Invercargill. Jonathan decided to return to New Zealand to utilise his extensive small and large business experience and assist in the growth of the Pioneer business. His significant local and international executive experience sees him in the newly appointed role leading Pioneer’s Customer Solutions business.
Peter Mulvihill - GM Contracting
Peter has a long history with Pioneer Energy and its predecessor company. With thirty five years’ experience in civil engineering, Peter brings a wealth of knowledge to the business. Peter has been involved in a wide range of hydro and wind development projects and in the past has been responsible for engineering investigation and conceptual design through to commissioning for these projects.
Peter is also at the forefront of environmental and compliance management. Peter’s skills are internationally recognised; he is a past Vice President of The International Commission on Large Dams and is also a Fellow of the Institute of Professional Engineers of New Zealand.
Donna Callaghan - Manager, Human Resources
Donna was appointed Human Resources Manager in April 2014. Working for Pioneer and its predecessor company for over 20 years, Donna has held several roles beginning as Personal Assistant for the CEO through to Chief Financial Officer. Trained as an accountant, Donna holds a Bachelor of Business Studies.
Yvonne Malcolm - Safety and Compliance Manager
Yvonne joined Pioneer in 2014 as a Compliance Administrator focusing on health, safety and wellness and Board compliance.
In 2016 the Safety and Compliance team was established with the mandate to create an internal audit programme, risk management framework and a contractual compliance system. Yvonne manages this team and has taken the lead in moving Pioneer into these systems as well as instigating health and safety initiatives and staff well-being programmes.
The ISO 55000 Asset Management System, once fully implemented in 2019, will be a large part of the Safety and Compliance team’s responsibilities.
